Dr. Karin Harter
Dr. Harter graduated from the Michigan State University School of Veterinary Medicine in 1980. At her first job in Pennsylvania she met her future partner, Dr. Elissabeth Roumanis, and in 1981 they moved to Connecticut where she worked as a relief veterinarian for a number of different hospitals. In 1986 they built the Berkshire Veterinary Hospital where she has practiced quality small animal medicine and surgery since. She is a member of the Fairfield County Veterinary Medical Association, the Connecticut Veterinary Medical Association, and the American Veterinary Medical Association.



Dr. Elissabeth Roumanis
Dr. Roumanis graduated from the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine in 1978. She then completed a medical/surgical internship at the Angell Memorial Animal Hospital in Boston Massachusetts followed by a residency in cardiology at the University of Pennsylvania. She moved to Connecticut in 1981 with her partner Dr. Harter where she practiced cardiology and internal medicine in Norwalk for 6 years. In 1986 She and Dr. Harter opened Berkshire Veterinary Hospital where she has had a cardiology referral practice since. In addition to cardiology, echocardiography, and cardiothoracic surgery she performs orthopedic and soft tissue general surgery. She is a member of the Fairfield County Veterinary Medical Association, the Connecticut Veterinary Medical Association, and the American Veterinary Medical Association.
