Dr. Karin Harter
Dr. Harter graduated from the Michigan State University School of Veterinary Medicine in 1980. At her first job in Pennsylvania she met her future husband, Dr. John Roumanis, and in 1981 they moved to Connecticut where she worked as a relief veterinarian for a number of different hospitals. In 1986 they built the Berkshire Veterinary Hospital where she has practiced quality small animal medicine and surgery since. She is a member of the Fairfield County Veterinary Medical Association, the Connecticut Veterinary Medical Association, and the American Veterinary Medical Association.



Dr. John Roumanis
Dr. Roumanis graduated from the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine in 1978. He then completed a medical/surgical internship at the Angell Memorial Animal Hospital in Boston Massachusetts followed by a residency in cardiology at the University of Pennsylvania. He moved to Connecticut in 1981 with his wife Dr. Harter where he practiced cardiology and internal medicine in Norwalk for 6 years. In 1986 He and Dr. Harter opened Berkshire Veterinary Hospital where he has had a cardiology referral practice since. In addition to cardiology, echocardiography, and cardiothoracic surgery he performs orthopedic and soft tissue general surgery. He is a member of the Fairfield County Veterinary Medical Association, the Connecticut Veterinary Medical Association, and the American Veterinary Medical Association.
